Two weeks Western Mongolia tour is for travelers who love trekking and exploring a variety of natural reserves in the wild nature. Scattered among the Altai Mountains are some mesmerizing glaciers, sceneries as well as high peaks throughout the mountain range. You will start the nomadic journey from the Ulaanbaatar city tour to the famous Altai Mountains and stay in tents along the western Mongolia tour.
The tour starts with arrival at Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, and transfers to the hotel. City sightseeing includes the most famous spots of Sukhbaatar Square, Gandan monastery, and the Chingis Khaan Museum. You will stay overnight in a hotel. (L/D)
Get on a flight to Ulgii and drive to Sagsai Soum. You will get to visit a horse breeder’s family and take and prepare the horses for riding. Stay overnight in a tent. (B/L/D)
Start the horseback tour. Riding to Tsengel Khairkhan, which is a sacred mountain. Rest in the mountain valley and sleep overnight in a tent. (B/L/D)
Ride to the Khar Lake and spend the rest of the day relaxing by the shore. Stay overnight in tents. (B/L/D)
Next few days, you will ride to Chihertei Lake via Dayan Lake and Altai Sum. On the way, you will visit a Kazakh herding family to see their life, and culture and observe them hunting with eagles. Stay overnights in tents. (B/L/D)
Following six days of adventure, you will ride through the Altai Mountain Range, the largest mountain system in Mongolia to Tolbo Lake, located 50 kilometers south of Ulgii. During this trip, you will have plenty of time to explore the surreal nature, and the highest peaks and relax on the shores of the lake. You will stay overnight in tents. (B/L/D)
We will head back to Ulgii and get on a flight back to Ulaanbaatar. After arrival, you will be accommodated in a hotel in the city. (B/L/D)
Shared double accommodation in a decent middle-class hotel in Ulaanbaatar, night accommodation in a Mongolian ger and in a tent, entire board, all transfers, entrance fees, rental of horses and riding gear, guide, (cook for a group), and horse guide.
