In this horseback riding tour, you will ride through different sacred and high mountains in the Central Mongolia region, starting from Senjit Mountain, Baga Khairkhan Mountain, and Zorgol Khairkhan Mountain. This special tour is for travelers who would like to challenge themselves to see the spectacular views from the top of mountains and go on an adventurous journey through the woods.
The tour starts with arrival at Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, and transfers to the hotel. City sightseeing includes the most famous spots of Sukhbaatar Square, Gandan monastery, and the Chingis Khaan Museum. You will stay overnight in a hotel. (L/D)
Drive southwest of Ulaanbaatar to Bayan-Onjuul (ca.120 km). Visit a horse breeder’s family to see their life and do the preparation for a horse riding tour. Stay overnight in a tent by the nomad family. (B/L/D)
Day 3-4
Start the horseback riding tour through the steppes and to Saran Tolgoi and Senjit Uul. During the tour, you will visit a nomadic family and get to taste the Mongolian traditional alcoholic beverage- Airag. You will stay the night in a tent. (B/L/D)
Continue riding to the sand dune on the back of a horse. If you are lucky enough, you will see some wild animals along the way. Arrive late in the afternoon at the camp and sleep in traditional Mongolian Ger. (B/L/D)
Horseback riding continues through the sand dune. Besides its magnificent view, you can stop by the steppes to watch the wild animals and plants of Gobi. For the night, you will stay in Ger camp. (B/L/D)
Riding through the rocky mountain area to Mount Baga Khairkhan. The Gobi Desert of western and central Mongolia is home to Mongolian ibex and you will be able to see the species in the mountain area. You will stay overnight in Ger. (B/L/D)
Continue the ride to the small lake Khariin Nuur and to the sacred Zorgol Khairkhan Mountain. Sleep overnight in a tent. (B/L/D)
Riding over the 1668 meter-high Zorgol Khairkhan mountain and hike up on the Rocks for a spectacular view. You can see birds of prey and the largest living wild sheep (Argali), wolves, and harts (male deer). Stay another night in a tent. (B/L/D)
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar and spend the rest of the day freely. Check into the accommodated hotel in the city. (B/L/D)
