Naadam is the biggest national festival held and celebrated in Mongolia throughout the country during the middle of July each year. It is the traditional display of strength, horsemanship, and marksmanship and is mainly an expression of the nomadic culture of the Mongols. The festival focuses on three traditional tournaments of horseracing, wrestling, and archery, starting from July 11th to July 15th. You will be exhilarated by the opening ceremony, history, artistic performances, and all the Mongolians who are dressed in their most beautiful traditional outfit called “Deel” during this special occasion.
The tour begins with arrival in Ulaanbaatar and transfers to the hotel. We will start with the city sightseeing tour. Visit to the most famous tourist spot Gandan Monastery, the center of Lamaist Buddhism in Mongolia. Then visit the Sukhbaatar square and the Chingis Khaan Museum of Mongolia and stay overnight in a hotel.
Start with a day trip to Manzushir Khid, and visit the ruins of the Buddhist 18th century Monastery and the local Museum. We will head to the horse racing steppe at Hui Doloon Hudag outside the city and watch the first phases of the tournament. Come back to the hotel and stay overnight.
Visit the opening ceremony of the Naadam Festival at the National Stadium. The program includes wrestling, archery, horse racing, a concert, and a gala dinner on the 12th of July. In the afternoon, an excursion to Terelj National Park.
Today we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar city and visit the Winter Palace of the Bogd Khan. Spend the night in an accommodated hotel.
Last day of the trip, you will transfer to the airport for departure.
