This tour covers the surreal beauties of the Southern part of Mongolia just in ten days. The journey starts with historical visits to the capital city and then to the magical Golden Gobi and its wonders in the desert. One of the beautiful sceneries you must see is the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park in the South Gobi which features Flaming Cliffs, Vulture’s Gorge and Khongor sand dune, and many more.


Day 1.   Ulaanbaatar 

The tour will begin with arrival at Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, by checking in to the hotel. City sightseeing includes the most famous spots of Sukhbaatar Square, Gandan monastery, and the Chingis Khaan Museum.

Day 2.  Elsen Tasarkhai

The second day starts with a drive to Elsen Tasarkhai which is a combination of mountain, forest, and Gobi Desert landscapes that occur together to create spectacular scenery. With the excursion to the Hogno Khan mountain, you will visit the Erdene Khamba monastery. After visiting the small sand dune there, travelers will stay overnight in Ger Camp during the trip. (B/L/D)

Day 3.  Karakorum

Drive to Kharkhorin city which was the capital of the ancient Mongolian empire. You will visit the first ever Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, Erdene Zuu, and the Kharkhorin museum. (B/L/D)

Day 4.  Orkhon River

Excursion to the Orkhon river and visit horse breeding family. After some fun followed by short trekking around the scenery, go back to the Ger camp for the night.

Day 5.  Middle Gobi

Drive from the mountain area to the steppe of Middle Gobi. Visit one of the biggest monasteries Ongiin Khiid (Ongi Monastery) located at the foot of Mount Saikhan Ovoo. (B/L/D)

Day 6.  South Gobi

We will drive today through the wide steppes to the South Gobi desert. The Gobi is one of the most varied deserts in the world. Your journey will take you through different landscapes to the impressive Flaming Cliffs (dinosaur excavation site) and the saxaul forest called Bayanzag.      (B/L/D)

Day 7.  Khongor Sand dune

After breakfast, we will depart to the largest and most spectacular sand dune in Mongolia-Khongoryn Els (Khongor Sand dune). The other name of these dunes is “the singing dunes”. After an excursion to the sand dune, will visit a camel breeding family and hop on two humps of Mongolian camels. (B/L/D)

Day 8.  Gobi Gurvan Saikhan NP

Drive to the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National park, excursion to the Yol Valley (Vulture’s Gorge). It’s a deep gorge with many rocky cliffs along with a frozen Yol stream nearly year around. During lunch, you will get to have a picnic in the nature. Surrounded by the glazier and the spectacular view, enjoy the day by hiking, photographing, and relaxing in the beautiful nature. (B/L/D)

Day 9.  Terelj NP

Fly back to Ulaanbaatar and drive to the Terelj National Park to explore the scenic mountain areas abundant with edelweiss fields. Trekking in mountain areas or relaxing in beautiful nature. You will stay in ger camp for the night. . (B/L/D)

Day 10.  Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast, we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day along with the evening performance. Overnight in a hotel. (B/L/D)

Day 11.  Departure

Depart to the airport. 


Shared double accommodation in a decent middle-class hotel, night stays in a ger camp, full board, all transfers, domestic flight, entrance fees, and guide services.
