This specific tour is inclusive of the majority of the travel sites from North to the South of Mongolia for over 17 days. The whole journey highlights the historic sites of each province and the eye-dropping beauty of the natural sceneries along the road. Some must-visit attractions such as Khuvsgul Lake, and the Golden Gobi Desert will leave you with amazing yet unfathomable memories that will last forever.
Day 1. Ulaanbaatar
The tour will begin with arrival at Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, by checking in to the hotel. City sightseeing includes the most famous spots of Sukhbaatar Square, Gandan Monastery, and the National History Museum. (L/D)
The second day starts off with a flight to Murun city which is the center of Khuvsgul province. Drive to Huvsgul lake, known as Asian Switzerland for its magnificent view. You will stay overnight in Mongolian traditional Ger Camp.
The following two days are dedicated to exploring the Khuvsgul Lake and trekking around the Taiga Forest. Taiga is the motherland of Reindeer herders known as Tsaatan. Getting to know their nomadic lifestyle and relationship with the reindeers will help you understand the uniqueness of the culture. (B/L/D)
Day 4. Zuun Lake
After breakfast, we will drive to the south and visit the Zuun nuur (East lake). Spend the rest of the day enjoying the dreamy view of the lake and stay overnight in Ger Camp.
Day 5. Khorgo NP
Begin the day with a drive to Khorgo National Park and check in to the camp located on the north side of the volcano Khorgo mount and stay overnight. (B/L/D)
Day 6. Excursion
Excursion to the clear freshwater Terkhiin Tsagaan (White Lake) (61sq.km) and to the extinct volcano Khorgo Mount. For the evening, you’ll visit a herdsman's family which breeds Yak. Trip to the canyon river Chuluut. You can try and ride Mongolian horses, and yaks, and to fish and will stay overnight in Ger Camp. (B/L/D)
Day 7. Taikhar Rock
On this day we will drive to Ikh-Tamir soum and you will be accommodated to ger Camps along 18m high cliff of granite Taikhar rock and stay the night
Day 8. Karakorum
Drive to Kharkhorin city, the ancient capital of the Mongolian Empire via Tsetserleg. We will arrive late at night and stay the night in Ger Camp. (B/L/D)
Day 9. Erdene Zuu Monastery
You will visit the first-ever Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, Erdene Zuu. After an excursion to the Orkhon river will visit the horse breeding family. After some fun followed by short trekking around the scenery, go back to the Ger camp for the night. (B/L/D)
Day 10. Middle Gobi
Drive from the mountain area to the steppe of Middle Gobi. Visit one of the biggest monasteries Ongiin Khiid (Ongi Monastery) located at the foot of Mount Saikhan Ovoo. (B/L/D)
Day 11. South Gobi
Today, we will drive through the wide steppes to the South Gobi desert. The Gobi is one of the most varied deserts in the world. Your journey will take you through different landscapes to the impressive Flaming Cliffs (dinosaur excavation site) and the saxaul forest called Bayanzag. Arrive at the Gobi camp and stay overnight in Ger Camp.
Day 12. Vulture Valley
Drive to the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park, excursion to the Yol Valley (Vulture’s Gorge). It’s a deep gorge with many rocky cliffs along with a frozen Yol stream nearly year around. During lunch, you will get to have a picnic in the nature. Surrounded by the glazier and the spectacular view, enjoy the day by hiking, photographing, and relaxing in the beautiful nature.
Day 13. Camel Breeding Family
Excursion to the sand dune and visit a camel breeding family. You can hop on the back of a two-humped Mongolian camel. Stay overnight in Ger Camp. (B/L/D)
Day 14. Terelj NP
Fly back to Ulaanbaatar and drive to Terelj national park to explore the scenic mountain areas abundant with edelweiss fields. Spend the afternoon trekking in the mountain areas and enjoy the night stay in Ger Camp. (B/L/D)
Day 15. Ulaanbaatar
Next morning, you will drive back to Ulaanbaatar and enjoy the night with the evening performance. Overnight in a hotel. (B/L/D)
Day 16. Departure
The adventure tour will end after arriving at the airport for departure.
Shared double accommodation in a decent middle-class hotel in Ulaanbaatar, night stays in Ger camp, entire board, transfers, domestic flights, entrance fees, and guide services.
