This tour covers magnificent views and sceneries of natural beauties from Central Mongolia to the Central part of Mongolia all the way to South Gobi, then back to Ulaanbaatar covering the wonders of Mongolia in just over two weeks. The journey starts with historical visits to the capital city then to the mesmerizing steppe, the singing sand dune, and lake, and to the magical Golden Gobi and its wonders in the desert. One of the beautiful sceneries you must see is the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park in the South Gobi which features Flaming Cliffs, Vulture’s Gorge and Khongor sand dune, and many more.
The tour will begin with arrival at Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, by checking in to the hotel. City sightseeing includes the most famous spots of Sukhbaatar Square, Gandan monastery, and the Chingis Khaan Museum. (L/D)
The second day starts with a drive to Elsen Tasarkhai sand dune which is a combination of mountain, forest, and Gobi Desert landscapes that occur together to create spectacular scenery. You will stay in a Mongolian traditional ger camp for an authentic experience. (B/L/D)
We will drive to the center of Arkhangai province called Tsetserleg. After visiting the Natural Museum of the Arkhangai province, we will drive to Ikh Tamir soum, where Taikhar rock is located. We will be accommodated in a ger camp for the night. (B/L/D)
For the next four days, you will get to climb the Khorgo extinct volcano and see the spectacular mountain view from the crater. Excursion to a freshwater Terkhiin Tsagaan (White Lake) which takes its source from the Khangai Mountain ranges and lies at an altitude of 2060 m. The next day, you’ll visit a herdsman's family which breeds Yak. You can try riding a horse. Take a walk around the lakeshore bird watching and stay in the ger camp. (B/L/D)
Drive to Kharkhorin city, the ancient capital of the Mongolian Empire via Tsetserleg. We will arrive late at night and stay the night in Ger Camp. (B/L/D)
You ill visit the first-ever Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, Erdene Zuu. After an excursion to the Orkhon river and a visit to a horse-breeding family. After some fun followed by short trekking around the scenery, go back to the Ger camp for the night. (B/L/D)
Drive from the mountain area to the steppe of Middle Gobi. Visit one of the biggest monasteries Ongiin Khiid (Ongi Monastery) located at the foot of Mount Saikhan Ovoo. (B/L/D)
We will drive through the wide steppes to the South Gobi Desert. The Gobi is one of the most varied deserts in the world. Your journey will take you through different landscapes to the impressive Flaming Cliffs (dinosaur excavation site) and the saxaul forest called Bayanzag. Arrive at the Gobi camp and stay overnight in Ger Camp. (B/L/D)
Drive to the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park, excursion to the Yol Valley (Vulture’s Gorge). It’s a deep gorge with many rocky cliffs along with a frozen Yol stream nearly year around. During lunch, you will get to have a picnic in the nature. Surrounded by the glazier and the spectacular view, enjoy the day by hiking, photographing, and relaxing in the beautiful nature. (B/L/D)
Excursion to the sand dune and visit a camel breeding family. You can hop on the back of a two-humped Mongolian camel. Stay overnight in Ger Camp. (B/L/D)
Drive to Dundgobi (Middle Gobi) and to Baga Gazryn Chuluu, rocks with amazing natural shape formation. You will stay in the camp for the night. (B/L/D)
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar. After arriving back in the city, you have free time. Stay in the checked hotel for the night. (B/L/D)
The Last day of the trip ends departure to the airport.
