Sangiin Dalai Monastery

Lama Uizen Rimpoche founded the Sangiin Dalai monastery in 1707. Construction of the main temple, which consists of total of 9 main sanctuaries, such as the Tsogchin sanctuary started in 1772, the Duinkher sanctuary was built in 1835 and more buildings were added during the 19th century. The Sangiin Dalai monastery complex was considered one of the biggest temples of that period and it is the only temple that is preserved without damage in Umnugovi province of Mongolia.
