Eastern Mongolia tour covers ten famous tourist attractions on the way from Khentii province and back to Ulaanbaatar just in ten days. During the excursion, you will visit one of the most important places, Khar Zurkhnii Khukh Lake which is a natural reserve where Temujin was crowned as Genghis Khan in 1206, and Deluun Boldog, birthplace of Genghis Khan and its statue located in Dadal soum in Khentii region. This specific tour is best for travelers who like to visit historic sites and get to know the history.
This tour will begin with arrival at Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, and visit Zaisan Hill and the National History Museum. You will stay the night in an accommodated hotel. (LD)
Drive to Khar Zurkhnii Khukh lake, which is located near the Tsenkher river in Khentii province. The translated full name of the river is The Blue Lake of Blackheart. It is a freshwater lake located south of the Black Heart Mountain (Khar Zurkh). Drive further to the Khangal lake, which lies at an elevation of 1322m above sea level and is surrounded by mountains. On the way to our tenting place nearby the Binder Soum of Khentii province, we will visit the Baldan Bereeven monastery (which was first established in 1654 and was famous for its lamas, artworks, and cultural treasures), deer stone, Binder stone heap and the Uglugchiin herem (Uglugch wall), which belongs to the IX century. Stay overnight in a tent for the night. (BLD)
In the morning we will head towards Binder Soum. The main highlight of the day will be Yargui Cliff (a great spot for photo shooting) and the Tujiin Nars (Pine Forest). You will stay overnight in a standard Ger camp. (BLD)
Drive to Norovlin Soum of Khentii province, which locates around 533 km from Ulaanbaatar. On the way, we will transfer to a small ferry to cross the river, and drive further via Dadal Soum to Deluun Boldog, where the statue of the great Genghis Khan locates. This statue was erected in 1962 at this place for this 800th birthday and the place Deluun Boldog is believed to be the Genghis Khan’s birthplace. You will spend the night in a standard Ger-camp. On the way to our tenting place on the bank of the Khurkh river, we will visit Khatdiin Urguu in Bayan-Adraga Soum, a place dedicated to the great 9 Queens. You will also visit a nomadic family to experience their lifestyle. We will stay in a tent by the bank of the river. (BLD)
For the next two days, the excursion to the Terelj National Park includes visits to Turtle Rock and the Aryabal monastery. Not only will you explore the scenic mountain areas abundant with edelweiss fields, but also experience the nomadic lifestyle by visiting herd families and trying horse riding in nature. You will be accommodated to a standard Ger-camp for the night. (BLD)
The next morning, we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar and enjoy the evening performance of the Folklore show and stay the night in the hotel. (BLD)
