The Altai Mountains are a complex mountain system in Central Asia bounding Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and China, often called Siberian Switzerland. On this trip, you’ll visit the high peak of the mountain along with different activities while visiting Western Mongolia’s famous attraction sites.
The tour starts with arrival at Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, and transfer to the hotel. City sightseeing includes the visit to the Sukhbaatar square, Gandan monastery, and the Chingis Khaan Museum. You will stay overnight in the hotel. (L/D)
The following day, you will board the flight to Bayan-Ulgii, the flight will take approximately around 4 hours one way. After arrival, we will drive to Irvestiin Am and stay the night in the camping tent. (B/L/D)
Today, you will visit the banks of the Potanin glacier, the largest glacier in Mongolia. You will sleep another night in tents. (B/L/D)
Time for Trekking. Trekking in the foothills of the high peaks of Altai mountain (4509m high) is the highlight of the trip. You will then stay overnight in the tent. (B/L/D)
You will get to visit a Kazakh livestock breeding family and become familiar with the rich culture of Kazakh people and its traditions. You may try and experience the wildlife and ride a horse as well. You will be accommodated to sleep in a tent. (B/L/D)
The following day will be spent on the road on a drive to Ulgii, the capital of Bayan-Ulgii province, and stay overnight in a tent. (B/L/D)
You will fly back to Ulaanbaatar city and check in to the hotel. (B/L/D)
