This journey to the South of Mongolia takes you to the desert steppe and natural beauties of the Gobi. The main highlights of the trip are the Singing sand dune, Flaming Cliffs as well as Yol Valley famous for its dramatic ravine covered by ice even in mid-summer. You are promised the undeniable beauty of the Gobi scenery and experience the beautiful desert throughout the adventure.
Day 1. Ulaanbaatar
This tour will begin with arrival at Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, by checking in to the hotel. The city tour starts with city sightseeing of famous spots such as Sukhbaatar square, Gandan monastery, and the Chingis Khaan Museum. You will stay overnight in a hotel. (L, D)
Get on a flight to the South Gobi. Excursion to Yol Valley (Vulture’s Gorge) with a picnic. You will get the chance to visit the camel breeding family and stay overnight in a ger. (B/L/D)
Along with the beautiful scenery and sightseeing, you will get to experience the largest and most spectacular Singing Dunes-the Khongor Sand dune. One of the specialties of Golden Gobi is to visit camel breeders and try riding a two-humped camel. (B/L/D)
Day 4. Flaming Cliffs
In the morning, explore the area, and after lunch drive to Bayanzag and to the Flaming Cliffs (dinosaur excavation site). Overnight in ger. (B/L/D)
Day 5. Flaming Cliffs
Your journey will take you through different landscapes to the impressive Flaming Cliffs and the saxaul forest called Bayanzag. Drive to the Dalanzadgad, capital of Umnugobi (South Gobi) province camp, and stay overnight in Ger Camp. (B/L/D)
Day 6. Ulaanbaatar
Fly back to Ulaanbaatar. Visit the Winter Palace Museum of Bogd Khan. Stay overnight in the hotel. (B/L/D)
Day 7. Terelj NP
The last day of the tour starts with an excursion to Terelj National Park. Visit a horse breeding family and try riding a Mongolian horse. Drive back to Ulaanbaatar city and stay overnight in the hotel. (B/L/D)
Day 8. Departure
Transfer to airport or to train station.
